Shadow Edge is a survival hack’n’slash game designed for the iPhone and iPod touch devices. The game takes place in the WW II times. Our hero ordered by the Defense Department of the USA is flying, swimming, riding and even crawling all around the world with only one task – The USA needs something that will help them overwhelm their enemies. It seems that this “thing” was finally found in a forgotten ancient pyramid somewhere in Africa. It is said that whoever is buried there holds the gift of Immortality.

Above & Below is a plane combat shooter game. The story in Above & Below takes place in the WW I times. The hero the players control is a German pilot. Through out many difficult missions players help their character (and the German army) achieve victory in their campaign. By completing tasks, fighting enemy planes, tanks, turrets and even some bigger enemies players try to become one of the most terrifying pilot known it that times – The Red Baron.

First thing I’d like to discuss is all the hate and swearing I received due to Space Oddity 2 not being released in January. To sort things out – yes, we had a delay. Space Oddity 2 wasn’t released in January because it wasn’t looking the way we wanted it to look. We are doing all we can to finish it asap and it SHOULD be released this month (95% sure). We didn’t delay the game to make you angry or sad – we just want you to get the game when it’s really finished.

Now the good news!

We released 3 new games on the appstore this weekend (yay us!). We received some nice reviews and comments – reading them makes us want to work harder and faster on the new upcoming games – so a BIG thank you from our team : )

To make sure that everyone gets a chance to play those games on their iPhone / iPod touch we’ve started a contest on the PastelGames twitter (http://twitter.com/Pastelgames). We will be sending a pack of promo codes to people willing to advertise our games on their twitter pages (by a pack of promo codes I mean 3 promocodes – 1 for Toxic jump, 1 for Glade and 1 for The Acrobats). Upcoming games (I know you’ve been waiting to read this)

I can’t say much since Karol is now editing what I’m writing here ( : ( ) but I can write some teasers

Our future games won’t be based on any of the flash games we have already released! We are also trying a new setting (or even adding a setting) to the upcoming games – Ladies and Gentlemen – World War I ! (applause here). There is a high chance that you will see some “mindless” characters. We will have a large variety of World War I vehicles and weaponry in the not-yet-finished-or-released games.

To sum up the teasers: Soldiers, Mindless Soldiers, Blood, Gore, Guts, Tanks, Planes, Turrets and more : ) and thats about it (Yeah I know I haven’t told you much. I’m sorry : ( )

It’s time for some unofficial Pastel Games office news!

Since the 1st summary up to today nothing really happened.

Some of our crew members have started playing Bad Company 2 Beta (remember that if you ever kill someone in that game you could have killed one of the Pastel Games people so do it again : P ).

This is the first of many upcoming weekly (monthly, emm… time-to-time) summaries. In this post I’ll try to keep you updated on all the things that happened since my last “The Summary” entries. And by keeping you updated I intend to keep you informed not only about our projects but also on how things are in our company, who did what etc. (this is starting to sound like a gossip blog post… oh well). So… let’s start!

First thing I’d like to mention is that we finally managed to get the desired “things” we wanted to get so that we could put more games in the appstore (by “things” I mean some blah blah blah stuff you don’t really want to read about). To celebrate that we already sent 3 games to the appstore and I think they should arrive… hmm… soon!

The first game you’ve already seen on this blog (the games intro movie to be precise) - ”The Glade”. I’ve asked you on the forums about what do you thing the game will be about. You gave us some answers and surprisingly one of the posters was right (I really don’t know how could he have figured it out by only looking at the movie… creepy).

The other two games have also been discussed on the forums. The only information I gave you was that these two games are based on flash games that we already released. I’ve asked you (I think my forums status should be changed to “Quiz Master”) what two games do you think will be ported to the appstore… well… no one guessed the right games… anyway I hope you will like the games (even tho they weren’t your top picks).

Enough about the games we are releasing… Now for some future plans.

I’ve asked you (heh…) what flash games would you like to see on your iPod Touch/iPhone (or what games do you think people with that devices should have). Almost everyone said what we think you would say – no surprise here – Submachine. I think all of you already know that we have a Submachine game already up on the appstore (and most of you think it’s too short and too easy). The thing you might not know is that the price of the game has been recently lowered (0,99$ at the moment) and I think it will stay that way for some time (who knows what crazy idea will we come up next).

Oh! And about Submachine – the game won Jay is Games vote for Best 2009 Adventure Game. Thanks for all the votes : D

Also I’ve wanted to know if the pastel fans would like to see a bigger, longer, more awsome, breathtaking, epic, 10/10 (stop reading this line if you get the idea), beautiful, perfect, unforgettable Pastel Games game. You said yes (now that wasn’t surprising). The thing you might not know is that it’s coming! I can’t tell you when it’s finished but it’s better then nothing right?

Enough! No more information (for now) about our present and future games…

Oh! I almost forgot! We’ve changed the Pastel Games website design! (not that you’ve already noticed)

Now to some off-the-record news about Pastel Games

We had a long break in developing games and I think most of you probably noticed but it was due to some blah blah “stuff” you don’t really want to read about… but we’re back!

You might have noticed a increase in our crew members (if you haven’t check the About Us section on our page) so let’s all say a big “Hello!” to Robert Musialek and me (:D). Robert is a programmer and I’m the new designer (with some PR thing going on – as you can see). More information about us you can read on the Pastel Games website.

While all of us are working hard (and I mean very, very HARD) on the upcoming games Mateusz left for Italy (for a comic book festival). This should explain the fact that he wasn’t appearing on the forums lately (in case you were worried). I’ll try to get some pictures from him when he comes back to post them in the next summary.

Many other things happened in the office but I don’t think I should write about them (actually I don’t think I’m allowed to write about them).

I was going to post some pictures from our new office but I wouldn’t have anything to write about in the #2 Summary.

As Mateusz wrote on pastelstories “Wrapping up 2009 means ranking over at Jay’s. Once again we’re going strong and last year was very fruitful, you can tell by our share of games in Jay’s nominations”.
This year we got 7 nominations in three categories:

- adventure (Submachine 6, Covert Front 3, the Fog Fall 2);
- escape (the Great House Escape);
- point and click (Bermuda Triangle Escape, Mandrake 1, the Scene of the Crime);

There are lots of good games nominated to this award – its great that we can find ours among them!

Besides that Pastel Games has grown! Our new and old team members you can see in the „About us” page on our site.

To be honest everything changed. No! Wait! The games didn’t change!

We start the year with the 2nd part of Space Oddity (coming this January!)

What’s next? Daymare town3, Fog Fall 3, Covert Front4 and… Submachine7!
